Webbs International Removals

We used Webb’s a few years ago prior to coming back before the pandemic. Moving out to Mallorca and dealing with the UK side of the business was faultless, however this is not the same story for Webb’s International.

Despite coming to the house to spec the move, Mr Webb grossly underestimated the amount to be moved and sent the wrong sized truck for pick up. He implied that we brought more items to the house between quoting and moving, despite them moving us to the island and already having the itinerary of our goods. They left items in the house that we had to leave behind as he refused to pick them up, apart from a bike, that we had to deliver to his depot. The day the packers arrived, they decided to leave the kitchen to the day of the move and the whole day they were with us, Mr Webb was constantly calling them to go to another job that they had double booked on. He then accused us of telling the chaps to leave, which we stated would never have been in our interest as we had paid for the house to be packed! Why would we then not want the house packed ??‍♀️

The rudeness and lack of respect that ensued from dealing with this man, especially when directed at me over my husband was awful. The whole process was the complete opposite to moving out to the island, where his son’s operation was slick and professional.

Beware that whilst they advertise they are British and Spanish accredited, this is not actually the case on the Spanish end. We reported them to The Furniture Ombudsman but were informed that they couldn’t cover the claim for Mallorca. We then contacted FEDEM and they do not cover them. Read the small print on their emails and website and disputes are actually only covered to UK domestic work. So you will not be covered should something go wrong in Mallorca, like it did for us.

I would like to highlight this company's service, which I have found to be excellent. From initial contact to final delivery their communication and service was beyond reproach.  The quote was excellent, and the removal from Scotland was quick and painless. The company turned up on time and phoned beforehand to advise their arrival time. On the delivery side, again, they turned up on time, having phoned beforehand. The delivery was quick, efficient and all packaging was removed, leaving our house uncluttered. All items arrived in the condition they had been packed with no loss or damage. I cannot recommend their service highly enough.  .

Service cost: £2700

This company think it is ok for their employees to steal items as they pack. I lost so many things Dyson, Denby plates, cups etc. When I asked where everything had gone, I was told they had been given. Who gives an almost new Dyson away, then spends days on the phone asking where it was.

Management were not interested they couldn't care less that their employees had stolen hundreds of pounds worth of goods. I should have gone to the police, but I was so stressed at the time, my husband had died the year before, I moved miles away. Only now do I feel strong enough to do something.

Service cost: £5000

This company have lost the legs of my table. It is clearly marked on the invoice but now they are denying any knowledge. They are so confused that they think I am missing a table and have even told that to their insurers. The right hand does not know what the left hand is doing. Promises of contacting the depot in Mallorca by the delivery men in Scotland never happened. I had to do all the chasing up. They are keen enough for you to part with your money but don't care after that. I would not recommend this company under any circumstances. PLease note that the pick up was Mallorca to the Scottish Borders. The drop down menu does not allow for other parts of Spain.

Service cost: €1000

Used Webbs to transport a car from London to Palma. Their lack of knowledge of Spanish Custom Taxes and mistakes made in the documentation caused me to have a considerable import duty charge.The company made no effort to rectify their own mistakes and have shown absolute disdain for us as customers.Gareth Webb has very little knowledge of the service his company is providing.If I could give this company a zero star rating I would. Unprofessional and unethical.Gareth Webb has no idea of what he is doing and really doesn't care.
